Michigan Forest Bioeconomy Conference scheduled for February 2017

The Michigan Forest Biomaterials Institute has announced that it will host a Michigan Forest Bioeconomy Conference February 1–2, 2017. The conference will convene at the Eberhard Center at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The conference theme is “Familiar Stakeholders – New Connections” and will emphasize an important objective of the meeting: to begin connecting traditional forest product industries with a wide variety of Michigan manufacturing sectors, particularly buildings, furnishings, transportation, health and wellness, and chemical products.

The conference is designed to inform communities and businesses about the forest bioeconomy, and for the Michigan Forest Biomaterials Institute to receive input from sponsors and attendees that will be used to guide future actions and activities.

In addition to a general session on the forest bioeconomy, the conference will have three concurrent sessions addressing Mass Timber Buildings, Wood Innovation, and Wood Recycling.
Information about the conference agenda, lodging, and registration is available at http://biomaterials.forest.mtu.edu/?page_id=749. Regular registration is available until January 20.
