Managing Aerated Stabilization Basins (ASBs)

Use of aerated stabilization basins (ASBs) for treating wastewater is a very common practice in the forest products industry.  Basins used for this purpose are unique in many ways and, as such, operational techniques and long-term management strategies for these systems are not widely known outside the industry.  NCASI has a very long history of maintaining expertise and developing information and tools that can be employed to sustain and enhance the performance of ASBs.  Strategic application of NCASI expertise and tools is frequently shown to have a high value with respect to cost savings associated with both routine operations and system modifications that improve performance.
