Landfilling

Manufacturing residuals that are not beneficially used are typically classified as solid wastes and disposed of in a landfill. NCASI maintains technical knowledge on key aspects of the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA), particularly the sections that deal with the handling and disposal of wastes generated at forest products facilities. NCASI tracks regulatory activity associated with the RCRA and Hazardous Waste rules, alerting our Member Companies to aspects that may affect their operations and contributing scientific perspective, as needed.
