Background

After graduating from Stetson University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and minoring in sustainable food systems, Natalie Brooks began an internship at the Newberry office. She was officially hired in September of 2024. As a research assistant, she specializes in using Gas Chromatography (GC) for methanol analysis as well as various water chemistry testing methods in the lab. Outside the lab, she assists in Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) research by creating maps in ArcGIS software. Additionally, she has utilized her food sustainability background to help with the wood products program.
