Background

Maurice Solomon joined the NCASI team in November 2024. Before joining NCASI, Maurice worked as a biologist at the United States Department of Agriculture, working to prevent mosquito-borne illness alongside international partners and military agencies. Following that appointment, he worked at the Alachua County Health Department in Gainesville, Florida, leading their HIV prevention efforts. Maurice has researched epidemiological trends to reduce infectious and chronic disease incidences and provided regional education to reduce harm and improve prevention methods. Maurice’s current interest includes developing a more human-centered epidemiological approach to improve data-driven policymaking and human outcomes.
