Technical Bulletin No. 0876: Use of Constructed Wetland Effluent Treatment Systems in the Pulp and Paper Industry

This report summarizes the general ecology of wetlands, provides an understanding of how wetland treatment systems work, and describes how to interpret design recommendations. The report reviews over 20 years of data from a wide variety of operational wastewater treatment systems for treating municipal and industrial effluents. Design and operation data from nine pulp and paper mill wetland treatment systems (seven pilot-scale and two full-scale) demonstrate the potential of this technology.
