Technical Bulletin No. 0797: Management Options for Paper Industry Wastewater Treatment Residuals Containing Dioxins and Furans

This report summarizes existing and speculative technologies that may be effective in reducing the TCDD/F content of dredged ASB sludges. Technologies were identified and evaluated based on information from published literature related to remediation of PCDD/F (or other related chlorinated organic compounds) in industrial wastes, sludges, and soils. In most cases, it was necessary to speculate on the applicability and effectiveness of these technologies when applied to ASB sludges because full-scale experiences with these technologies applied to ASB sludges were lacking.
