Technical Bulletin No. 0772: Volatile Organic Compound Emissions from Wood Products Manufacturing Facilities, Part V – Oriented Strandboard
An impinger/canister method and EPA Method 25A were used to measure individual and total gaseous organic compounds at four oriented strandboard (OSB) mills. The tested process units included: three southern pine OSB dryers, one northern hardwood OSB dryer, five OSB presses (three hardwood and two softwood), two sanderdust handling systems, and a wafer blender aspiration system. Of these process units, the dryers had the highest uncontrolled total HAP and total VOC emissions.
