Technical Bulletin No. 0770: Volatile Organic Compound Emissions from Wood Products Manufacturing Facilities Part III – Medium Density Fiberboard
An impinger/canister method and EPA Method 25A were used to test vent gas samples from four medium density fiberboard (MDF) mills for speciated and total volatile organic compounds. Additionally, several methods were used to analyze for volatile and semi-volatile compounds in process liquid samples collected at two of the MDF mills with wet particulate control devices. The tested process units included: a rotary pre-dryer, six tube dryers, three formers, three presses, three sanders, a saw reclaim system, a blender, and a board cooler.
