Technical Bulletin No. 0761: Results of the Evaluation of H2S Passive Card Monitors for Use in Kraft Mill Workplace Atmospheres

Seven passive card monitors for the determination of hydrogen sulfide in workplace atmospheres were examined in this study to evaluate their performance in accordance with guidance set forth by NIOSH for the validation of passive monitoring devices. The cards were the Envirometrics ACT, the Gilian ChemAir, ChromAir, and SafeAir, the VICI Metronics Colortec and Rotorod, and the American Gas and Chemical Leak-Tec cards. These cards fell into three different categories representing varying levels of analytical accuracy.
