Technical Bulletin No. 0758: Marine Chronic Bioassays – Technical Evaluations and Effluent Responses with EPA East Coast Methods

NCASI has completed a research program to technically evaluate various marine chronic bioassay procedures adopted by EPA for use under the Clean Water Act. This work initially focused on West Coast species, but was then extended to East Coast species as well. This technical bulletin provides a detailed methods description followed by performance evaluations of the sheepshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus) and inland silversides (Menidia beryllina) embryo/larval growth and survival test; the mysid (Mysidopsis bahia) survival, growth, and fecundity test; the sea urchin (Arbacia punctulata) test; and the red macroalga (Champia parvula) reproduction test.
