Technical Bulletin No. 0738: Volatile Organic Compund Emissions from Non-Chemical Pulp and Paper Mill Sources, Part III – Mechanical Pulping

Volatile organic HAP and volatile organic compound (VOC) emission tests were conducted at one pressurized groundwood, two stone groundwood and three thermomechanical pulp mills. HAP emissions ranged from 0.033 to 0.39 1WODTP with an average of 0.18 lb/ODTP. Methanol was the largest component of HAPS and contributed nearly 50 percent (0.085 lb/ODTP).
