Technical Bulletin No. 0705: Diversity and Abundance of Landbirds in a Northeastern Industrial Forest Landscape
We studied abundance and diversity of landbirds in all successional stages of habitat in an industrial forest landscape in northern Maine. Of nine broad habitat categories, Recent Clearcut and Mature Hardwood forest had the lowest avian diversity, but these two habitats each contained many species that showed maximum abundance in those habitats. Highest avian diversity was found in two young regenerating forest types (6- 20 years following harvesting).
