Technical Bulletin No. 0620: An Assessment of Exposure to Dioxin from Consumption of Fish Caught in Freshwaters of the United States Impacted by Bleached Chemical Pulp Mills

The range of potential exposures to dioxin due to consumption of fish caught in freshwaters of the US impacted by bleached chemical pulp mills were assessed for potentially exposed populations, including sport fishermen and residents near mills. This analysis differs from previous assessments in its employment of Monte Carlo analysis and not the traditional approach combining point estimates. Previous assessments have predicted single or, at most, few estimates of exposure, though potential exposures are known to vary.
