Technical Bulletin No. 0615: Current Status of Nonrecyclable Paper Burning in the Forest Products Industry

The responses to an NCASI survey of Nonrecyclable Paper (NRP) burning in the Forest Products Industry are presented and summarized. NRP used as fuel includes mixed recovered paper, coated broke and OCC wastes. Air emission data obtained form test burns of a fiber-based, densified fuel, OCC waste and d-RDF (densified refuse-derived fuel) in three separate hog fuel mill boilers are presented. Data on metals composition of combustion ashes resulting from pelletized broke firing in another hog fuel boiler are also included.
