Technical Bulletin No. 0570: Spectral Characteristics of Ozone-Treated Conifers
The reflectance spectra of three conifer species, Douglas-fir, lodgepole pine and ponderosa pine, were examined for response to exposure to ozone. Seedlings were grown in open-top chambers under different ozone exposures. Exposures were designed to be realistic. Ponderosa pine seedlings had slight symptoms of needle mottle-chlorosis associated with ozone injury and showed the greatest magnitude of spectral change.
