Technical Bulletin No. 0542: Rates of Nutrient Release by Mineral Weathering

This bulletin is a review of soil mineral weathering which summarizes available information on weathering mechanisms and analyzes the major technical obstacles to quantification of weathering rates. It is expected that this technical bulletin will be useful as a research planning tool in the content of the Air Quality/Forest Health Program and as an introduction to a complex topic which is of fundamental importance to sustained forest productivity.
