Technical Bulletin No. 0536: Interim Assessment of the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program Forest Health Related Sections

In September 1987 the four volume INTERIM ASSESSMENT: THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF ACIDIC DEPOSITION, was published by NAPAP. There was considerable debate in the press about the nature of the report, the motivations that might have been behind it, and allegations of biases in selecting the scientific reports on which the report is based. The purpose of this technical bulletin was to provide the forest products industry those parts of the Interim Assessment that are pertinent to the questions being asked by NCASI in its investigative program. We reproduced The Executive Summary, found in Volume I, and Chapter 7, Effects on Forests, from Volume IV. We thank the administrators of NAPAP for permission to reproduce these materials.
