Technical Bulletin No. 0535: Prescribed Forest Burning Emissions — Their Characterization, Control, and Effects

For eight years prior to this report, the Southern and West Coast regional meetings featured one or more sessions covering research, field investigations, and regulatory programs related to the impact of forest management practices on the environment. This technical bulletin is an assembly of five presentations at the 1987 West Coast Regional Meeting. All the papers deal with fire in the forest environment, the use of prescribed fire in forest management, air quality problems associated with fire, and management practices designed to reduce these air quality problems.
