Technical Bulletin No. 0526: Land Treatment Effects on Wildlife Populations in Red Pine Plantations

Because dioxin (2,3,7,8-TCDD) was found at parts per trillion in waste treatment sludge of Nekoosa Papers Inc., Wisconsin mill, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) required the company to carry out a wildlife study to determine if sludges applied to the land in pine plantations was adversely affecting wildlife in these plantations. This technical bulletin is a report on this study which was made available to the National Council for distribution to member companies.
