Technical Bulletin No. 0504: A Survey of Emissions from Dryer Exhausts in the Wood Panelboard Industry

This technical bulletin reports on a field survey conducted at eight panelboard wood dryers. These dryers produced furnish for particleboard, flakeboard, oriented-strandboard, and fiberboard manufacture. The bulletin provided estimates of the emission potential of condensable organic compounds, total particulate and condensable organic compounds, opacity, and formaldehyde emissions in addition to TGNMO emissions. An effort was made to correlate emission rates to process operating variables and wood species dried.
