Technical Bulletin No. 0493: A Survey of Formaldehyde and Total Gaseous Non-Methane Organic Compound Emissions from Particleboard Press Vents

The National Council had had a program in place for some time to determine non-methane volatile organic compound emissions from an array of sources in the forest products industry. This technical bulletin deals not only with the subject of volatile organic compound emissions from particle board press vents, but formaldehyde as well. The latter is one of a series of compounds currently being regulated or considered for regulation by several states as part of their hazardous emission regulations.
