Technical Bulletin No. 0480: Forestry Management Related Subjects on Air Quality and Forest Health, Solid Waste Disposal on Forest Lands and Gypsy Moth Control

This technical bulletin contains four papers presented at regional meetings in 1985. The first describes the development, elements, and objectives of the National Council’s program to investigate the potential impact of air quality on forest health and productivity. The next two papers presented at the Southern Regional Meeting deal with the problem of unauthorized disposal of solid wastes on company owned forestry lands. The first reviews pertinent laws and regulations related to possible liabilities of companies upon whose lands unauthorized disposal of hazardous wastes has occurred. The second describes how one company attempted to deal with the unauthorized disposal of solid wastes on their land. The final paper describes the occurrence and success of gypsy moth eradication in Oregon and other parts of the West.
