Technical Bulletin No. 0459: The Land Application of Wastewater in the Forest Products Industry

This technical bulletin (a) reviews the literature on the land application of wastewater in the forest products industry and (b) discusses the current status of land application in this industry, including the description of systems presently in operation. Information on current land application activity in the forest products industry was obtained by identifying facilities where land application is practiced and then soliciting details on the design and operation of these systems. The literature review demonstrates considerable research and full-scale experience in the land application of effluents from pulp and paper mills, fiberboard mills, and wood-preserving plants.
