Technical Bulletin No. 0448: A Study of Factors that Affect Nitrogen Oxides and Carbon Monoxide Emissions from Wood-Residue Fired Boilers

This technical bulletin addressed the influence of boiler operating conditions, boiler combustion control capability, and fuel properties on the simultaneous minimum emission rates of nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide. The bulk of the information in the bulletin was drawn from extensive monitoring of flue gas and operating conditions at three new generation traveling grate boilers by NCASI in cooperation with member companies. These findings have also been supplemented with monitoring and support data from other boilers which was made available by member companies.
