Technical Bulletin No. 0441: A Laboratory Study of Four Methods of Sampling Groundwater for Volatile Organic Compounds

At the time that bulletin was prepared, however, there was an absence of information on the effects of sampling devices on groundwater samples intended to be analyzed for volatile organic compounds. This was a significant shortcoming because volatile organic compounds are frequently the object of groundwater quality investigations due to the significance of their presence in drinking water. Consequently a study was designed and carried out to address this question, the results of which are reported in this technical bulletin.
