Technical Bulletin No. 0432: International Research on Forest Management Practices and Water Quality Protection

Each year the National Council staff carried out a survey of research related to the impact of forest management practices on water quality and utility which is limited almost exclusively to research carried out in the United States. In a parallel activity, the annual literature review on this subject has identified reports on research in other countries which address questions on forest management practices and water quality protection similar to those questions raised in the United States. This technical bulletin is based on a survey of research carried out internationally, on forest management practices and water quality protection.
