Technical Bulletin No. 0427: A Study of Wastewater Treatment System Upgrade Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry

This technical bulletin is the report on a study of treatment plant upgrade experience in the pulp and paper industry. Drawing principally upon pre- and post-treatment plant upgrade performance data in the Council's treatment plant performance data bank, the data on experience at eleven mills was examined in detail. Major capital expenditures were not necessarily found to be criteria for improved treatment plant performance when treatment efficiency was already at a high performance level.
