This technical bulletin is the report on a study carried out to determine the effluent heavy metals content and discharge rates from direct steam conditioning of logs. This is the manufacturing operation of most concern to the industry with regard to the regulatory decision. The study included the assembly of a limited amount of available data in the industry.
