Technical Bulletin No. 0388: Receiving Water Quality and Quantity Response to Forest Management Practices

This technical bulletin is an assembly of presentations on receiving water quantity and quality response to forest management practices made at the West Coast and Southern Regional Meetings in 1982. Two papers in this series addressed changes in stream flow quantity attributed to forest management practices. Jere Christher and R. Dennis Harr, USDA Forest Service, reported on changes in stream flow pattern believed to result from timber harvesting practices in the transient snow zone of the Cascades in Oregon, while George G. Ice, NCASI, described experiences with watershed peak flow modifications and forestry management options.
