Technical Bulletin No. 0379: Effects of Paper Mill Waste Water on Cattle, Crops, and Soil

The attached technical bulletin from Louisiana State University was distributed as one in a series of NCASI Technical bulletins by courtesy of the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station; it is based on work carried out at the Experiment Station and supported by International Paper Company. The bulletin, entitled "Effects of Paper Mill Waste Water on Cattle, Crops and Soil" describes early work on the effects of bleached kraft mill effluent on soil and crops, which is also included in Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletin No. 604, previously distributed as NCASI Stream Improvement Technical Bulletin No. 196. This bulletin is being distributed since it contains information on the favorable experience with utilization of receiving waters containing kraft mill effluents as a source of drinking water for beef and dairy cattle.
