Technical Bulletin No. 0369: Report on Paper Industry Occupational Health Methodology Development Study Project – Chemicals and Related Materials

This technical bulletin was the initial report in a series containing basic information for use in the industry's occupational health protection study programs. It responded to an industry- identified need for information on (a) process areas within which the potential exists for workplace exposure to a number of chemicals and other materials used or generated during manufacturing operations (exposure potential profile), (b) the potential human health effects, means for their detection, and background toxicological information associated with such exposure, and (c) measurement procedures available for determining the potential for workplace exposure to such materials as well as actual personnel exposure. The material presented was organized to assist member company staff users in carrying out specific problem definition studies at operating locations, as part of a growing industry effort to develop such information in its occupational health protection programs.
