Technical Bulletin No. 0362: A Guide to Groundwater Sampling

Obtaining a representative sample from a properly sited and installed groundwater quality monitoring well required that adequate attention be paid to (a) preparing the well for sampling, (b) selecting an appropriate sampling train, (c) using the sampling train properly, and (d) providing appropriate sample pretreatment and analysis in the field. This technical bulletin, the third of a series, provided the guidance necessary to design and implement sampling programs that addressed these requirements while satisfying the monitoring objectives at specific sites. In addition, the bulletin reviewed the requirements for groundwater quality monitoring imposed by RCRA and factors to consider in attempting to satisfy these requirements.
