Technical Bulletin No. 0343: Experience with the Analysis of EPA's Organic Priority Pollutants and Compounds Characteristic of Pulp Mill Effluents

From 1978 the National Council had been actively engaged in the analysis of priority pollutants in pulp and paper mill effluents employing the guidelines for analysis set forth by EPA. This investigative program, like all others during the period, proceeded, developing data destined for use within the regulatory framework, using a prescribed procedure not scientifically or thoroughly understood because of the deadline set designating its use to develop data for use in a court prescribed regulatory program. This technical bulletin describes the National Council experience in the analysis of the organic priority pollutants and other compounds characteristic of pulping effluents using the EPA methods.
