Technical Bulletin No. 0309: Review of Pulp Bleaching from a Perspective of Water Conservation Practices and Other Environmental Considerations
The National Council, over the past several years, has initiated continuing investigations of water reuse practices around paper machines. The objective of these studies is the definition of technical constraints and water quality characteristics that limit further water use economy in efforts directed to effluent volume reduction. This activity has resulted in the formation and maintenance of a computer-assisted water quality reuse data repository at the Central-Lake States Regional Center for nonintegrated waste paperboard, tissue, and fine paper manufacturing operations. Integrated linerboard paper machine operations are currently being added to the list.
