Technical Bulletin No. 0297: A Review of Water Quality Mathematical Models and Considerations in Their Application to Pulp and Paper Mill Receiving Water Quality Studies

During the literature search and review of modeling studies, several areas were identified where additional research is required if receiving water quality modeling is to be significantly improved. Among these were the need for a critical examination of three factors affecting the dissolved oxygen balance; namely re-aeration rate, sediment oxygen demand and photosynthetic oxygen production.
