Technical Bulletin No. 0275: 1973 Review of the Literature on Pulp and Paper Effluent Management
Each year the National Council staff prepares two annual literature reviews. The first of these is attached, and deals with the literature on water quality protection and waste treatment problems and progress of the pulp and paper industry. It was prepared by George Gove, Research Engineer at the Northeast Regional Center, and covers 273 literature references, many of which are drawn from foreign periodicals. It is arranged so as to deal with the following subjects: receiving water effects; analytical procedures and effluent composition; pulping liquor disposal and recovery; physico-chemical treatment: secondary treatment; and selected aspects of waste paper recycle.
