Technical Bulletin No. 0260: The Relationship Between the Constitution and Dewatering Properties of Hydrous Sludges

For some time the National Council has had in progress a substantial program directed toward improving the industry's capabilities for dewatering and disposing of the various sludges generated during treatment of mill effluents. A major portion of this program has concerned itself with those sludges found to present substantial difficulties in their dewatering subsequent to initial generation by sedimentation.
