Technical Bulletin No. 0247: An Investigation of the Effects of Bark Leaching and Benthal Decomposition on Receiving Water Quality

The attached technical bulletin represents the final report on the benthal decomposition project underway at the National Council's Northeastern Regional Center at Tufts University since 1967. The first report (National Council Stream Improvement Technical Bulletin No. 219)"Studies on the Behavior of Benthal Deposits of Papermill Origin" summarized results obtained using papermill sludge. The present report covers subsequent work done with pulpwood bark from a number of sources and with varying past history.
