Technical Bulletin No. 0206: Mathematical Models of Pulp and Paper Waste Disposal Systems
Engineers and their associated environmental scientists, confronted with the task of designing and operating recovery and disposal facilities for water-borne wastes from industries and municipalities, have endeavored to find combinations of unit processes that reduce objectionable substances to acceptable levels at reasonable cost. Through research and development those unit processes have been made to operate more efficiently. Also, efforts have been made to experimentally determine optimum design criteria for individual units, but until recently decision-making aids have not been available to analyze an entire waste recovery disposal system to determine the most economically efficient system.
