Technical Bulletin No. 0089: Research Approach to Survey Procedure in Atmospheric Pollution
The enclosed report was prepared by Dr. E. FL Hendrickson, Leader of the National Council Atmospheric Pollution Study Project at the University of Florida. It deals with the general procedures which should be followed in surveying air pollution problems. The paper points out the similarities involved in studying air pollution and other industrial waste problems. Since the techniques of air pollution surveys are still in a formative stage, the factors which must be considered in setting up a sampling problem are explored. There is a discussion regarding the units in which atmospheric contaminants are expressed and some of the precautions which should be observed in reporting results. It is hoped that this paper will provide a valuable introduction to members who may be faced with atmospheric disposal problems.
