Technical Bulletin No. 0060: Factors Affecting Emission of Odorous Reduced Sulfur Compounds from Miscellaneous Kraft Process Sources (AQTB)

Identification of factors affecting odorous reduced sulfur compound emissions from the kraft recovery furnace system, and demonstrated capability for dealing with non-condensable type emissions from digester and evaporator operations serve to focus attention on hitherto considered minor odor emission sources. The attached technical bulletin summarizes the results of an extensive National Council investigation of several such sources, namely the brown stock washing system vents, smelt dissolving tank stack, and black liquor oxidation tower exhaust air.
