Technical Bulletin No. 0046: Workshop Proceedings – Kraft Mill Particulate Emission Control (AQTB)

The attached technical bulletin consists of the prepared remarks presented by three discussion leaders who participated in a technical workshop on "Kraft Mill Particulate Emission Control" at the 1969 Southern-South Central Regional Meeting. The National Council is grateful to Malcolm G. Lyon, (U.S. Plywood-Champion Papers), Alan M. Lindsey, (Westvaco), and Paul L. Suter (St. Regis) and their companies, for their participation in the workshop, and for permission to distribute their remarks. These, discussion, and the ensuing underscored (1) the factors responsible for electrostatic precipitator cost and performance variation, (2) precipitator maintenance needs, and (3) current status of bark-fired boiler fly ash emission control. Each of these areas continues to receive attention in the National Council's study program and will be the subject of future technical bulletins.
