Technical Bulletin No. 0035: Analytical Equipment and Monitoring Devices for Gases and Particulates (AQTB)

The enclosed technical bulletin constitutes the proceedings of a special workshop on new developments in kraft mill stack gas analysis conducted at the West Coast Regional Meeting in November 1967. Techniques in use for monitoring either gaseous or particulate emissions are undergoing rapid change as refinements are made in gas chromatograph technology, and as automated procedures are developed for more conventional calorimetric and electrometric analyses. It is our hope that distribution of this bulletin will stimulate more widespread application of the techniques described, and lead to their further refinement, particularly for ambient air quality monitoring. This area still presents significant analytical problems which the industry is seeking to solve.
