Technical Bulletin No. 0028: A Method of Measuring the Concentration of Sulfur Compounds in Process Gas Streams (AQTB)

  The measurement of the individual components in mixtures of gaseous sulfur compounds, such as those found in the off-gases of the kraft process, is a difficult problem. The National Council’s University of Florida project has researched this field to a considerable degree which led to be the development and testing of the method described in the attached Technical Bulletin No. 28. This analytical procedure appears to be a considerable improvement over previous techniques. However, this must be proven by wide industry application. It is, therefore, recommended and requested that mills who choose to employ this test in comparison with others, report their findings to the National Council so that further evaluation can be made.
