Special Report No. 96-08: Source and Fate of Bisphthalate in a Deinking Pulp Mill
A field survey was conducted at a deinking pulp mill to identifiy the source and fate of bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (BEHP) in the deinking process. BEHP concentrations in solid and aqueous streams entering and exiting the mill were determined by taking one-day composite samples. Mass balances for BEHP were calculated for the entire mill and for several unit operations using the measured BEHP concentrations and stream flow balances.
