Special Report No. 92-01: Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, and Chloroform Releases From Selected Kraft Mill Bleach Plants

Releases of chloroform, chlorine, and chlorine dioxide from nine bleached mills were measured. The tests were conducted by consultants who participated in an audit program developed by NCASI. The results show that the total emissions of Cl2 and Cl02 from bleach plants ranged from < 0.01 lb/ADTP to 0.29 lb/ADTP and < 0.01 lb/ADTP to 0.92 lb/ADTP, respectively.
