Special Report No. 89-09: Background Information of Value for Preparing a Manual to Respond to Emergency Releases of Chlorine
Background information that would aid mills in drafting a manual to respond to emergency/accidental releases of chlorine has been summarized. The literature is rich in information on the potential for hazards associated with the use of chlorine and how emergency releases can be avoided or minimized in the design, construction and maintenance of the storage facilities and handling systems. The subject of first aid and medical attention for individuals inadvertently exposed to different concentrations of chlorine have been addressed.
