Special Report No. 87-01: Information in the EPA BACT/LAER Clearinghouse of Value to the Forest Products Industry – Third Update
This report represents the fourth in a series which summarizes information in the EPA BACT/LAER Clearinghouse, a computerized database of preconstruction air quality permits issued to new and modified sources. Permitting data are submitted primarily on a voluntary basis by state and local air pollution control agencies who have issued the permits. The intended function of it is to serve as reference source for permit writers seeking guidance on appropriate emission limitations and control technologies for various source types. For the last few years, EPA has prepared annual reports with listings of the permits in the database.
