Special Report No. 80-04: Proceedings of the 1980 Annual Meeting of Members

The Annual Meeting of Members held on March 10, 1980 marked a significant step in the further development of the National Council's program of technical/scientific studies of environmental quality protection problems on behalf of the forest products industry. Actions of the corporate membership and the Board of Governors that day made possible the funding and conduct of studies in a broad range of environmental concerns to the industry including air and water quality protection, solid waste disposal management, employee workspace chemical exposure protection, and consumer product safety. Following on earlier Board of Governors' action authorizing 4 broadening of the National Council's program, new study areas to be directly funded for the first time included paper converting, industrial forestry and wood products manufacture.
